Each year, the Board of Directors and the committee awards a number of scholarships in the amount of $1,000.00. Individuals can win a scholarship twice.
To file a completed application, it is necessary to follow the steps below, complete the enclosed forms as directed and attach the required items.
Eligibility: Any properly executed application will be accepted. However, a higher priority will be given to any applicant who is pursuing a degree in water well or ground water related studies. To qualify, the applicant must:
- Be a member, or the child, grandchild or spouse of an individual member in good standing (for not less than three years) of one of the JUBILEE state associations;
- Be a high school senior, high school graduate, or college undergraduate;
- Maintain at least a 2.5 grade point average during their last two years of formal education. An applicant who has been out of school for more than two years may submit transcripts or no less than two employment related recommendations.
- Be able to provide transcripts including cumulative grade point averages (high school seniors) or the latest available transcript from an educational institution.
Procedure: The applicant must complete the following application in full and have submitted it to the proper location BEFORE the deadline. The deadline for this application is March 1, 2012. Applications must be postmarked by the deadline to be eligible.
Review: Eligible applications are reviewed by the Scholarship Committee. Special consideration is given to individuals studying an industry related field. Evaluations are based on:
- Academic achievement, grade point average, honors received;
- Quality of the essay;
- Community involvement.
Disbursement of Funds: The winning applicants will be notified by May 15, 2012. Scholarship funds will be mailed directly to the financial aid department of the school the applicant is to attend. The funds must be used in the year the scholarship is awarded.
